Taking Flight with the Turners in Bucks County

This family is near and dear to me. They live just up the street from me in Frenchtown, NJ, and Val and I have worked together for almost a decade. Last fall they reached out to me for a Family Session for their holiday cards. Flying has been part of their lives forever; David and Val both have their pilot’s license and Dylan is about to get his. It made sense to do an aviation theme with their antique yellow plane!

I met them at Van Sant Airport in Erwinna, Pennsylvania at sunset on a late fall afternoon. It was chilly, so leather bomber jackets were a must! We spent about half an hour photographing all around the plane, finally bringing out Ziggy, the newest addition to the family. Ziggy is their adorable black lab puppy who did pretty well considering she was only a few months old and still rather nervous around new people. 

After the plane was put away, we were frozen so we stopped by a favorite Frenchtown, New Jersey spot, Early Bird Espresso & Mercantile for hot chocolate.
