A Family Session in Frenchtown, NJ

Last fall I had the honor of photographing my brother and his sweet family in Frenchtown, New Jersey. We had the ideal weekend where there were both leaves on the ground and still on the trees! Hunterdon County, NJ is gorgeous in the fall, and it really made for the best family photo session. 

When they arrived, the kids were a little shy. It was the first time (in their memory) that they had been in front of a big camera! We spent some time letting them get used to how it looked and the noises the shutter makes. Then, we played and ran around a bit to loosen everyone up. My niece discovered that you can throw the leaves and that improved her mood substantially! Suddenly she and my nephew were laughing and having the best time. 

I took a few moments to photograph my brother and sister-in-law alone as a couple because it had been a long time since they had any professional photos taken of them together. I think it’s always important to give parents a little extra time and attention since they give so much to their kids!
