A Very Special Maternity Session in Flemington, NJ

You may recognize these two from some previous blog posts as my brother and sister-in-law! When they told me they were expecting (at a previous family photo session nonetheless) we knew we would be doing a maternity session! The months seemed to fly by, and in early spring we scheduled her session.

We arrived to the location in Flemington, New Jersey to a somewhat overcast sky. I was really hoping that it would start to clear and within fifteen minutes it did! We got some beautiful golden shots down by the creek and on the bridge. A surprise for us was the cherry tree that was sandwiched between the parking lot and the road. The magic of photography is that you only need a small area to make a beautiful portrait. You would never know that the beautiful tree wasn’t in the middle of a field.

At the end, we got a few cute shots of my niece and nephew blowing dandelions and having fun. We were going to be seeing each other later in the day, but still ended up chatting at the playground and catching up! 

Maternity sessions are some of my favorites to do. It’s such a special time in life, and I think it’s so important to honor all of the changes and work mom’s body has undergone. I also think it’s important for couples to honor their relationship before baby comes and life gets busy!
